Marin is known to be a talented and highly-rated footballer, who has dribbling skills and clinical one-on-one finishing. He also has great technique and footwork. He loves to get into one-on-one situations, take players on and is very comfortable dribbling, which is where he draws his comparison to Messi. He is equally good providing through balls to teammates as he is chipping a keeper and watching the ball drift in to the net.Marin is not known as an impressive goal-scorer, but rather for his prolific assists. He has never recorded more than 10 goals in a single Bundesliga season.Marin is naturally a winger and during his time at Werder Bremen (with the departure of Mesut Özil), he was moved to an attacking midfielder role, in an effort to try to convert Marin into a 'number 10' role, as his versatility allows him to play anywhere across the midfield and upfront.
